Anthuriums for grandparents in the Netherlands

Due to the coronavirus many grandparents in the Netherlands are not able to meet with their grand children, which of course is difficult in these challenging times. When the ANBO (Dutch organisation for elderly people) reached out to Dümmen Orang asking if we were willing to donate plants to this good cause we immediately said yes!

Via their website the ANBO arranged for grand children to nominate their grand parents for a free plant. Many grand children signed up and in less than a week thousands of grand parents were nominated. A courier service is delivering plants throughout the Netherlands. The handling of all plants will last several days. Employees of Vattenfall offered their help to the ANBO for the remaining deliveries this week. We donated 3.000 red anthuriums in total, including varieties such as Success Red and Lipstick Red.

On May 17 our Dutch colleague Mario Nederpelt surprised a sweet 92-years old grand mother who was nominated by her grand son Jesse. It’s great to see how plants make people happy.
