New Laboratory Information Management System for BTC

In December 2020, after a year of development, a brand new laboratory information management system (LIMS) was put into use by our Breeding Technology Center.

LIMS allows the Diagnostic labs, Plant Health & Molecular Diagnostics to effectively manage the flow of samples and associated data while greatly improving efficiency. Furthermore, it integrates our instruments and automates the collection of data. In the last couple of years our laboratory capacity grew exponentially and generated a vast amount of valuable data. Tracking samples and associated test data through the laboratory, and using that data to generate results, management reports and other information-based insights is now possible with a click of a button.

A great achievement of the team, as the LIMS improves the quality of our work and this digitalization saves the team up to 25% of the time.
