APAC organization updated

Dümmen Orange announced an updated APAC organization in a letter to all employees in the region. This updated organization builds on the great work already implemented by the teams and provides a platform to pursue and capture the great business opportunities that exist in APAC.

Nick Bennett, Director APAC: ‘First of all I’d like to thank all employees past and present who have helped us throughout this journey to build the business to where it is today. Our updated APAC organization has been designed to fulfill Dümmen Orange’s vision for Asia-Pacific. It is the first phase of a transformation to meet our growth ambitions across the region. We believe these changes will help fulfil our strategy to become the preferred strategic partner of high quality genetics to growers, channel partners and the value chain in Asia-Pacific.’

Better supporting our customers by regionally relocating resources in technical support, customer operations and marketing is one of the key guiding principles to secure our vision. Another important starting point is the need to increase customer intimacy by localizing relationship management and sales responsibility into our strategic Asian markets: China, Japan, Vietnam, India and Taiwan.

Nick Bennett: ‘We can improve efficiencies by continuing to leverage globally scalable resources – for instance IT and Legal – whilst providing necessary support regionally to provide focused execution. Efficiencies and quality of business partnering can also be improved by structuring business support on functional lines.’

As a result of the transformation, Customer Operations for all crops will be gradually transitioned to APAC responsibility with completion by the end of the year. South Korea is already complete. Regional technical crop experts have been set up to support the local teams and customers and will be fully completed by July 2021. Local sales and business development team members will be fully in place by July 2021. A light regional layer of customer operations, IP & contracts, finance, HR will be in place by July 2021.

Nick Bennett: ‘The APAC leadership team will be dispersed into the various countries. We will delay the establishment of a regional headquarters and reassess in 2023.’
